Khenpo Akarpa Rinpoche - Tsalung & Trulkhors
Khenpo Akarpa Rinpoche
20-22 June 2025
Khenpo Akarpa Rinpoche is introducing a new course that offers a comprehensive
summary of Tibetan yoga practices. This course is distinct from the Zhang Zhung
Nyan Gyud teachings and has been personally developed by Rinpoche based on his
extensive study and expertise in the diverse yoga traditions of Tibet.

About Tsalung Trulkhor
Tsalung Trulkhor refers to specific secret tantric practices and unique, purifying
physical exercises designed to enhance Dzogchen practice. These methods have
been traditionally employed by tantric yogis in the Himalayas, Zhangzhung, and
Tibet. The practices include wind purification, body purification, mind purification,
clearing obstacles, and the unique tummo inner heat purification. Tummo focuses on
the bodily life points connected to tsa-tik-lung channels and refined body postures.
Khenpo Akarpa Rinpoche has studied tsalung trülkhor and tummo extensively under
numerous exceptional masters from the major spiritual traditions of Tibet, including
Yungdrung Bön, Sakya, Gelug, Kagyü, Nyingma, and Jonang.
Course Highlights
The program integrates key practices from various Tibetan traditions, including:
• Wind Purification Practice: Techniques to unblock bodily points and balance the five
winds, promoting physical and mental health.
• Body Purification Practice: Exercises to harmonize the five elements, enhance
bodily warmth, and address ailments caused by imbalances.
• Mind Purification Practice: Methods to calm the mind, eliminate mental obstacles,
and cultivate one-pointed concentration for inner peace.
Purpose and Benefits
These practices aim to purify body, speech, and mind, clear obstacles, and foster
supreme mental and physical well-being. Participants will experience increased
energy, radiant health, and profound joy while nurturing compassion and wisdom.
This course is tailored for contemporary practitioners from both Eastern and Western
backgrounds, making these ancient techniques accessible to all.

Biography : Akarpa Rinpoche is a renowned Buddhist master and
an exceptional spiritual leader of our time. Ordained as a monk at the age of five, he
underwent rigorous training under high lamas and lineage holders from various
schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He emphasizes the integration of theoretical study with
practical application in daily life, making ancient wisdom accessible for modern
practitioners.
With over 30 years of experience, Rinpoche is a meditation master, Dzogchen
practitioner, and accomplished yogi. He has profound expertise in the texts of Sutra,
Mantra, and Dzogchen. Following the ri-me (non-sectarian) approach, Rinpoche has
received invaluable teachings from accomplished masters across different traditions.
These include Dzogchen, Ma rgyud thugs rje nyi ma (Mother Tantra), Vajrakilaya,
Kalachakra Vajra, Guhyasamaja, Naropa's Six Yogas, and Niguma's Six Doctrines.
Since 2008, Rinpoche has spent three to five months annually with Yongdzin Tenzin
Namdak Rinpoche, receiving in-depth teachings on Dzogchen and Mother Tantra.
Remarkably, he has been the only disciple to receive one-on-one instruction from
Yongdzin Rinpoche over the past two decades. Additionally, Rinpoche completed a
four-year study on Chinese Buddhism at Minnan Buddhism Institute in China, where
he developed a particular interest in Zen Buddhism. He has visited Zen temples in
Japan multiple times and has led meditative tea ceremonies with his students.
In recent years, when not engaged in retreats or personal study, Rinpoche has
taught Tsalung yoga, meditation, and other spiritual topics across China and Europe.
In June 2017, he delivered teachings on Tsalung yoga to nearly one thousand monks
at Ganden Monastery of the Gelug tradition—the first time Tibetan yoga was openly
taught to such a large gathering of Tibetan monks. That same year, he also taught
Tsalung yoga at Menri Monastery at the invitation of the 33rd Menri Trizin Lungtok
Tenpai Nyima.
“The purpose of religious practice is never about the religion itself but to transform
ourselves,” Rinpoche often says. Known for his extraordinary wisdom, sincerity, and
courage in addressing the challenges of modern life, he inspires participants with his
compassion, approachable teaching style, and deep understanding of contemporary
struggles.
