Dzogchen Meditation Retreat ( no more solo or 2 beds room)

Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche

24-29 August 2025

Dear Dharma friends,Beyond theoretical teachings, only direct practice can reveal the true nature of our mind. This intensive meditation retreat offers you six days dedicated entirely to the meditative experience under the guidance of Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche. He will continue the teachings on "Nyam Gyud" by combining teaching and meditation sessions.

What is the Nyam Gyud?

The Nyam Gyud (ཉམས་རྒུད་, “Experiential Transmission”) is one of the living cores of the Zhang Zhung oral tradition within Bön Dzogchen. It is distinguished both by its origin—a direct transmission from master to disciple without reliance on scriptural intermediaries—and by its nature: it is not a theoretical corpus, but a series of highly precise practical instructions intended to awaken and stabilize direct knowledge (rigpa) in each practitioner.

Historically, from the time of Ponchen Tsenpo, the lineage split into two branches: one focused on the transmission of precepts, and the other on experiential transmission. The latter has remained essential and vibrant, consolidated in the 11th century, compiled into a manual around the 13th century, and preserved to this day by accomplished masters. The Nyam Gyud does not merely explain what to meditate on—it provides detailed guidance on how to meditate, through progressive stages of awakening, approaches to overcoming obstacles, and advanced practices such as dark retreat. All of this is documented in a carefully structured manual (including foundational practices, main sessions, complementary practices, obstacles, and dark retreat protocols).

Practically speaking, under the guidance of Rinpoche, every aspect—each meditation, posture, tone, visualization, and return to the natural state of mind—is explicitly described, allowing the practitioner to engage the experience here and now with clarity and authenticity. The Nyam Gyud thus serves as a pragmatic framework, not of abstract ideas, but of experiential navigation, linking theory, practice, challenges, and realization, step by step.

The Direct Path of Dzogchen

In the Yungdrung Bön tradition, meditation is the direct path to recognizing our awakened nature. This retreat will allow you to explore the depths of Dzogchen meditation, where each session becomes an invitation to discover the natural space of mind.

Whether you are a beginner or experienced practitioner, Khenchen Rinpoche's precise instructions will guide you toward a living understanding of meditation, beyond concepts.

The Art of Intensive Practice

Six days of immersion create a particular momentum. Away from daily distractions, the mind rediscovers its natural stability and inherent clarity. The guided Guru Yoga practices establish the essential connection with the lineage and transmit the direct blessings of the Dzogchen masters.

Under Rinpoche's guidance, you will discover how to recognize and stabilize the natural presence of mind, develop authentic practice, and integrate meditative experience into your daily life.

A Necessary Transformation

In our age of mental agitation, meditation is no longer a spiritual luxury but a vital necessity. This intensive retreat with a qualified master represents a powerful catalyst for inner transformation, giving you the tools to establish a mature relationship with your mind.

For serious practitioners, this is an opportunity to consolidate their understanding. For sincere beginners, it is an authentic initiation into the depths of Dzogchen.
