We are delighted to announce that Amchi Nyima and GesheDennyi accepted to teach once again in Shenten Dargye Ling!
The topic of Amchi Nyima 's teaching is very special: he will give an introduction and talk in detail about Medicinal Baths (Tibetan: བདུད་རྩི་ལྔ་ལུམས་, Wylie: bdud rtsi lnga lums) according to Traditional Tibetan Medicine, in short called Lum (Tibetan: ལུམས།, Wylie: lums).
These Lum have even been added to the intangible cultural heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO, and now you have the opportunity to learn more about it!
In the mornings, Amchi Nyima will explain in detail:
• The methods of administering the steam bath
• How to conduct the water steam bath
• The appropriate season for a water steam bath
• The necessary precautions and care during treatment
In the afternoon, Geshe Dennyi will continue to teach about the causes of diseases. This year, he will focus on explaining the karmic causes of the diseases and methods to prevent them.
Geshe Dennyi is the head of the Traditional Tibetan Medicine School and hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has many years of intensive experience in teaching and practicing medicine.
The following types of steam bath will be subject in the teaching:
1. Natural Steam Bath (Tibetan: རང་བྱུང་ཆུ་ཚན་གི་ལུམས།, Wylie: rang byung chu tshan gi lums)
2. Artificial (or Processed) Steam Bath Tibetan: (བཅོས་མའི་ལུམས།, Wylie: bcos ma’i lums)
The term "artificial steam bath" refers to a bath that is prepared using medicinal substances that have to be carefully combinedand balanced in order to unfold their full effect.
The Five Essential Ingredients of the "Five Nectars" Steam Bathare:
Ba-lu (Tibetan: བ་ལུ, Wylie: ba lu): Rhododendron primulaeflorum
Shug-pa (ཤུག་པ, Wylie: shug pa): Juniperus communis
Mkhan-pa (མཁན་པ, Wylie: mkhan pa): Artemisia annual L & Ajania tenuifolium
Mtse-ldum (མཚེ་ལྡུམ, Wylie: mtshe ldum): Ephedra equisetina
Om-bu (འོམ་བུ, Wylie: ‘om bu): Myricaria garmanica

Contribution for the teachings online:
The participation fee is 15 € per teaching session.
Payment will be made via PayPal when you register with Zoom.

Recordings and translations:
The teachings will be recorded. We will provide the link to download the recordings as soon as they are available.
