The Mother Tantra – Teaching and Practice
with Lama Sangye Mönlam
Register for on-site participation before 16 May.
Lama Sangye Mönlam has taught in Shenten for many years and is a highly respected teacher in the Yungdrung Bön tradition. We are happy and grateful that he continues his teachings on Mother Tantra.
Ma Gyud, the ‘Mother Tantra’ (མ་རྒྱུད་, Wylie: ma rgyud) is one of the main practices of our beloved master H.E. Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche. It is a key text in the Yungdrung Bön tradition and many of our core ideas and practices are based on this tantra. It includes the six practices of ‘inner fire’, body offering, consciousness transference, dream yoga, sleep yoga, and intermediate state.
Lama Sangye Mönlam started to teach ‘The Mother Tantra’ online in 2020. His intention is to teach all the aspects of the whole cycle over the course of this multiyear program.
Lama Sangye Mönlam was a resident lama at Shenten before moving to Austria to become the head lama of the Austrian Bon center, Yeshe Sal Ling. Western students like to gather around him and enjoy his compassionate presence, simple manner, and yogic style of behaviour. He is a specialist in the tantric teachings, rituals, and ceremonies of Ma Gyud, the Mother Tantra.

Example of how to calculate the retreat amount
Simulation: You are in rate 2, you wish to take all meals and be accommodated in a twin room. You arrive on Wednesday afternoon and leave on Sunday. The calculation will be as follows
4 days of teaching (morning and afternoon) 4X30€ = 120
that is 120 € to be paid to the congregation
the annual fee (if you have not already paid it): 33 €.
Accommodation in a room with 2 beds : 4X18€ = 72€..
full-board meals: from Saturday evening to Friday lunchtime included) 4X20€= 80€
that is 185 € to be paid to the association
So a total for the week of 305€.
