Teaching and empowerment by His Holiness 34. Menri Trizin, Lungtok Dawa Dargye Rinpoche
13th to 16th - Visit of His Holiness the Abbot of Menri
- 13th - We are honored to announce that on this very day we will have the joy to welcome His Holiness the Abbot of Menri in Shenten Dargye Ling.
- 14th to 16th - His Holiness will teach on the Red Garuda Practice.
It is with great pleasure that we announce that His Holiness Lungtog Dawa Dargye Rinpoche, the 34th abbot of Menri, the leader of the world wide bönpo community, has accepted our invitation to bless Shenten Dargye Ling with his presence. His Holiness has kindly accepted to confer the initiation of Red Garuda and to give teaching on its practice.
Red Garuda, or Khyung Mar, is a wisdom deity used for healing oneself and others. The practice of Red Garuda is very effective at healing physical, emotional and spiritual obstacles. It protects against outer, inner and secret obstacles. As any tantric practice its ultimate aim is to realize enlightenment through a process of deep inner transformation.
His Holiness was born in Amdo on November 29, 1972. At the age of 18 he entered monastic life and became a monk at Gamal Monastery where at the age of 24 he obtained his Geshe degree. Thereafter he went to Menri monastery in India to continue his studies and again he graduated as Geshe in 2012. He has been staying on at Menri monastery and has served the 33rd Menri Trizin and the monastery in different capacities.
After the passing of the 33rd Menri Trizin on September 14th, 2017, following the traditional selection process that includes extensive prayers and rituals Geshe Dawa Dargye was selected on January 1, 2018 as the abbot of Menri.

Dear Sangha members and friends of Yungdrung Bön,
With a great pleasure and enthusiasm, I am writing to you on behalf of all members of Shenten Dargye Ling.
As many of you know, His Holiness 34th Menri Tridzin is paying his visit to almost all the Bönpo Centers in Europe and America during this summer.
As announced in our website www.shenten.org, his visit to Shenten is scheduled June 13-18. His Holiness graciously accepted our request to grant us the teaching and empowerment of Red Garuda which will take place June 14-16.
Established and blessed by our beloved master Yongdzin Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, the foremost teacher of the Yungdrung Bon tradition, Shenten Dargye Ling is a seat of Bön studies and practice for the international Bön practitioners in the West. This is the very first visit of His Holiness to Shenten. We therefore would like to invite you to take part in the teachings and empowerment ceremony, support celebration of the auspicious visit of His Holiness 34th Menri Tridzin and receive blessings from him.
The online registration has now been open for a couple of weeks and it will remain open until mid May. However, the early registrations would help our organizers to preview the number of participants so that we can arrange the logistics accordingly and provide everyone a better service during the event.
We really hope many of you will turn up for the event and we look forward to seeing you and celebrate this important event together.
